Pontiac Parent University is a program sponsored by the OU - Pontiac Initiative, a partnership between Oakland University and the city of Pontiac. The purpose of Parent University is to provide parent support and networking through involvement and engagement within the Pontiac School District. We achieve this by coordinating monthly events that revolve around our Four Pillars: Health & Wellness, Navigating the Educational System, Positive Parenting, and Personal Development. Our mission is to empower Pontiac parents to be active and engaged in the success of their child’s academic journey. We want to increase family engagement and youth academic achievement within the city of Pontiac by creating strong, sustainable family - school - community partnerships.
