  • Phoenix Nation, please help us congratulate Pontiac Athletics, Coach Polk, Coach Tyler, and our Wrestling Team, for their amazing efforts this weekend, at the MHSAA Individual District Tournament. PHS 11th grader Julius Polk was named District Champion, and six wrestlers also qualified for the MHSAA Regional Tournament. The Regional Tournament will be held this Saturday, March 27th, at Mason High School. Congratulations Phoenix Nation, we are very proud of you!!!

  • We're proud to announce that the "MHSAA" preseason rankings have been released and two of our PHS Wrestlers have been ranked "High" in the State of Michigan. They are known throughout the county as the "Polk Boys" from Pontiac.

  • Congratulations to Pontiac High Boys Soccer Team. We advanced winning 3-0 in the 1st round of the MHSAA District playoffs moving them onto the semifinals!

    Please help me congratulate Coach Wisam and the Boys Varsity Soccer Team on a great Division win vs Ferndale High School, the score was 3-0. Our boys are currently 5-2 overall, and ranked #1 in the Blue Division. So again, Congratulations Coach Wisam, Coach Tellez, and your team for the hard work, dedication, and commitment you have put into building this great program.

     Letter to Our Athletes

      

    The Pontiac High School wrestling team competed at the MHSAA 2020 Individual District Championship. Phoenix Nation please help us congratulate Coach Adam Polk and three of his wrestlers Sr. Martine Jacobo (2nd), Sr. Myster Sanders (4th), and So. Teveion Etchen (3rd) for qualifying for the Regional Tournament. Congratulations to our wrestling team and to our Phoenix Nation! 

     

    On Friday, February 7, the wrestling team traveled to the OAA League Championship. The team placed 2nd overall as a team among eight teams invited. Nonetheless, the following individual placers were; 

     Dayemion Logan, Runner-Up 

    Joshua Gomez, Champion 

    Julius Polk, Champion 

    Myster Sanders, Champion 

    Dequine Logan, Champion 

    Teveion Ethechan, Champion 

    Martine Jacobo, Champion 

    Significant Season Accomplishments:

    • Martine Jacobo Defeated two All-State wrestler at the OAA League Championship.
    • Julius Polk undefeated 31-0 ranked #3 in the State of Michigan
    • Myster Sanders,  Dequine Logan, Teveion Ethechan,  Julius Polk,  Josh Gomez, and Martine Jacobo won their first OAA League Championship.
    • Dayemion Logan Runner-Up place as a freshman. 

    Team season accomplishments: the wrestling team won 12 dual matches this season with eight wrestlers this season. 

    Congratulations to coach Polk and the wrestling team!

     

     

     

    KJ Hamler

     

    Pontiac native and Penn State all star wide receiver KJ Hamler came to speak to PHS students about his drive and dedication. KJ is headed to the NFL draft this year and his story is one of something to aspire to.

    The wrestling team received a milestone winning their 100th team career win under head coach Adam Polk and assistant coach Tyler Evenson.

     
    The wrestling team entered the Waterford Mott Invitational on December 14th, 2019 with only eight wrestlers, but rallied up consecutive match pins to win dual matches for their 100th win.
