Dear Parents and Guardians,
If your child has not attended school, please make sure to contact the Pontiac Middle school. There is space for 7th and 8th grade students, and we are very proud of our school and community. Regular attendance is vital to student’s success in school. The student, who is frequently absent, misses social interaction and direct instruction from his or her teachers even though written work can be made up. Any day or hour absent is a missed learning opportunity. Attendance is a key predictor of academic achievement.
Any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact our school counselor, Mr. Davis, at 248.451.8020. We will have a successful school year!
Estimado Padres y Guardianes,

Pontiac Middle School (PMS) was built in 1956 and provides education for students in grades seven, eight and nine. The school is located on the north side of the city and next to the Pontiac High School.
At PMS the students are taught reading, language arts, science, social studies, and math. Students participate in the elective wheel which rotates them through different elective courses which includes physical education, foreign language, band, art, math games, and computers. Ninety-three percent of the students participate in the free/reduced lunch program.
The PMS library/media center had a make-over by the Piston’s Corporation which donated several hundred books and a variety of learning materials for the middle school. The PMS motto echoes the Pontiac School District’s: “Excellence, Efficiency and Equity is an affirmation of our commitment to our students parents, and citizens in the city of Pontiac.
